Ulmia Workbench - A Name To Be Trusted

Ulmia workbenches are European in style and very fine in workmanship and quality. There are several designs and sizes available to suit different needs. This company believes that a good model must be solid, have a smooth working surface and be fitted with vises capable of securing pieces of all sizes. Deluxe Ulmia® Workbench, Model 1500 – It weighs 100 kilos and is very stable with optimal vibration control. The particularly thick top is constructed out of seasoned, vibration dampening red beech, glued, sealed and ground absolutely flat. It is perfect for planning and other large scalework. The front vise has double steel guide rods and the tail vise has a backlash free mechanism. Together they work with extreme precision. Irregularly shaped objects can be clamped easily with the round rotating bench dogs. The base is held together with mortise and tenon joints. There is high stability because of the torsion free spindles with metal springs and full length vise screws. You will have to assemble this unit yourself with the provided instructions.
 
Model Number 4 – This unit, manufactured in Germany, is equipped with heavy traditional vises and 4 round aluminum bench dogs. Base stretchers are joined to the legs by mortise and tenons, reinforced by full- length treaded rods. The top of the bench is waxed and polished as opposed to oiling. This increases the durability. The top and bench are made out of sturdy European beech.

Model Number 2 – This unit has storage in the rear of the top. There is a single row of rectangular bench dog holes running the length of the front of the top. The tail vise features a clamping hook. It is available in four different lengths for you to choose from. The top is made of European Red Beech. The top comes fully assembled. The trestle ends which are made of tenon and mortise and pre-assembled. Once the bench is assembled it can carry up to 800 kgs.

The Ulmia workbenches are said to be on of the best in quality but are priced on the higher side. However, they will last for a lifetime and thus are worth the price. It is a name that can be trusted.
